JEE Main 2027 Eligibility Criteria

How to Register for JEE Main 2027
Register
Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in. Registration uses MeriPehchaan single sign-on. Note the application number and password; the same number is used for Session 2.
Fill the form
Personal details, paper, exam cities, Class 10 and 12 details. Only one form per candidate is allowed.
Photo and documents
Live photo through webcam or QR on phone, plus a scanned photo (10–200 kB JPG, white background, 80% face with ears, no mask), signature (10–100 kB JPG) and Class 10 certificate (PDF, 50–300 kB). Full specs.
Pay and save
General male ₹1,000, General female ₹800, EWS/OBC male ₹900, SC/ST/PwD ₹500 (one paper, centres in India). Download the confirmation page. All fees.
Registration tips
Update your Aadhaar photo and name first, and keep the email and mobile number yours or your parents'. Apply before 22 November 2026 to avoid the ₹500 late fee.
Common mistakes to avoid
Filling two forms (leads to cancellation), using someone else's phone number, a dark or cropped photo, and not saving the confirmation page.

Correct answer +4, wrong answer −1, unanswered 0. Guess only when you can rule out two options.
Numerical questions (+4 / −1)
Negative marking now applies to Section B as well, as stated in the 2027 bulletin. Do not type a random number.

When is JEE Main 2027 Session 1?
Session 1 is on 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January 2027. Registration is open from 24 October to 22 November 2026, and the admit card comes out on 13 January 2027.
What is the JEE Main 2027 exam pattern?
Paper 1 has 75 questions: 25 each in Maths, Physics and Chemistry (20 MCQs and 5 numerical questions per subject). All are compulsory. Total marks 300, duration 3 hours, computer-based test.
Is there negative marking for numerical questions in JEE Main 2027?
Yes. The 2027 Information Bulletin says there is negative marking for incorrect answers in both Section A and Section B: +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one.
Is the JEE Main 2027 syllabus different from 2026?

Yes. Session 2 is on 2 to 7 April 2027 and you apply with the same application number from 5 January to 3 February 2027. Your better NTA score of the two sessions is used for the rank list.
