NTA announced the dates in its public notice of 24 October 2026. Session 1 registration is open till 22 November 2026. Admit cards for Session 1 come out on 13 January 2027. Confirm every date on jeemain.nta.nic.in before you book travel.

Your shift and date are printed on the admit card. You cannot choose the shift. Reach the centre at the reporting time on the admit card, which is earlier than the exam start.
Session 2 is on 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 April 2027. If you applied for Session 1, log in with the same application number between 5 January and 3 February 2027 and pay the Session 2 fee. If you skipped Session 1, register fresh in that window.
Your rank is based on the better of your two NTA scores, so writing both sessions has no downside.
Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) is a computer-based test at an NTA centre. You do not write it from home. Only the B.Arch drawing test (Part III of Paper 2A) is on paper, on an A4 drawing sheet. The paper is available in 13 languages, including English and Hindi.

Aman's Class 12 pre-boards are in the second week of January. He applied for Session 1 anyway. His plan: treat January as a full rehearsal, take whatever score comes, and put his real push into Session 2 on 2–7 April. Since NTA keeps the better of the two scores, Session 1 cost him nothing and gave him a real exam experience.
Session 1 is on 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January 2027, as per the NTA public notice dated 24 October 2026.
Session 2 is on 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 April 2027. Applications run from 5 January to 3 February 2027.
The Session 1 admit card is scheduled for 13 January 2027 and the Session 2 admit card for 25 March 2027, on jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The exam city for Session 1 is announced on 30 December 2026. For Session 2 it is 12 March 2027.
Paper 1 is a computer-based test at an NTA centre. Only the B.Arch drawing test is done on paper.
No. NTA allots the date and shift. You only choose exam cities in the application form.
Exams run on six days, 20–24 and 28 January 2027, with two shifts a day for Paper 1: 9 AM–12 noon and 3–6 PM.
The 2027 bulletin keeps the same 75-question Paper 1 pattern as recent years, with +4/−1 marking on both MCQs and numerical questions.
