Chemistry Explorer questions

Where does the data come from?

Compound and reaction data is fetched live from Chempirical, which aggregates sources such as Wikipedia and Organic Syntheses. No API key is needed and the endpoint is CORS-open.

Is this an official JEE reference?

No. Treat Chempirical as a companion to your NCERT notes, coaching material and PYQs. Always verify a reaction or property against your syllabus before relying on it in an exam context.

Why are only some reactions shown?

Chempirical holds a broad reaction database. We surface only reactions tagged to JEE Main / Advanced organic-chemistry topics (for example electrophilic aromatic substitution, aldol condensation, Cannizzaro, Grignard and Diels–Alder) so the list stays focused on your preparation.

How is my search handled?

Input is debounced (300 ms), repeat lookups are cached for 30 minutes, and requests are throttled so we stay well under the provider's "a few requests per second" ask. Missing compounds are shown with a friendly empty state instead of breaking the page.
