Identity

Aadhaar / valid ID

NTA has used Aadhaar as the primary identity in recent cycles. If details (name, date of birth) don't match school records, fix them now — corrections take weeks.

Academic

Class 10 & 12 details

Board name, roll number, year of passing, and school code. Keep your class 10 certificate handy — that's the standard DOB reference.

Images

Photo & signature files

Recent passport photo and signature as per the bulletin's size/format specs. Take a compliant photo now instead of a rushed phone crop later.

Category / EWS certificate

If applying under OBC-NCL/EWS, certificates must be current-format and valid for the applicable financial year. Renew early if yours will expire.

PwD

PwD certificate (if applicable)

Issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format. Scribe requests also need advance preparation.

Payment

Working payment method

Net banking, UPI, or card that works for online payments. Registration failures are usually payment-gateway timeouts — retry calmly within the window.

Create credentials on the official NTA JEE Main portal with your email and mobile number. All further communication comes through these — use ones you check daily.

Step 2

Fill the application

Personal details, academic details, exam city preferences (list more than one), and paper choice (Paper 1: B.E./B.Tech; Paper 2: B.Arch/B.Planning).

Step 3

Upload, pay, verify

Upload photo/signature in the specified formats, pay the fee, and download the confirmation page. No confirmation page = no application. Print or save the PDF.

Before you submit: check name spelling against your class 10 certificate, exam city list order, paper selection, and category. The correction window is short and not guaranteed for every field.

Can I register for both Session 1 and Session 2 at once?

Recent cycles have used separate application windows for each session. Session 2 registration opens after Session 1. Students who skip Session 1 can still register for Session 2.
