JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination Main) — JEE Main is the NTA-conducted national engineering entrance exam, held in two sessions per year, whose percentile and All India Rank decide admission to NITs, IIITs, GFTIs and many state and private engineering colleges.

What matters about JEE Main
- It is a computer-based test. Paper 1 is for B.E./B.Tech, Paper 2A for B.Arch and Paper 2B for B.Planning, and most aspirants appear for Paper 1.
- It is normally held in two sessions, around January and April. You may appear in one or both, and the better valid NTA score counts for the final merit list.
- Raw marks are converted session-wise into an NTA score (percentile) through normalization, and the All India Rank is prepared from the best valid score after tie-break rules are applied.
